Materials to upcycle a bicycle whell to make a clock
- Pintyplus Spray Chalk paint in spearmint and white.
- Pintyplus metal primer.
- Pintyplus plastic primer.
- Pintyplus Spray varnish for chalk paint.
- Clock mechanism.
- Plastic or MDF letters.
How to upcycle a bicycle wheel to make a wall clock
No 1 Clean the wheel
Clean the wheel with warm soapy water and rinse. When it is dry check there is no rust or oxidation, sand off if necessary. Disassemble the wheel, it makes it easier to paint.
No2 Apply the spray primers
Apply the Pintyplus Spray primer to the bicycle wheel , this gives the paint a good grip on the metal and helps prevent oxidation. Prime the rubber of the whell with Pintyplus Spray primer for plastic.
No 3 Painting
Spray paint the wheel with white Pintyplus Chalk paint and once dry finish with a coat of Pintyplus Spray varnish for chalk paint. This gives your clock a long lasting finish.
No 4 Fit the clock
Spray paint the numbers with Pintyplus spearmint Chalk spray paint . Finish with Pintyplus Spray varnish for chalk paint. Then glue the numbers to the wheel and fit the clock mechanism.
