How to paint a kitchen with spray paint Pintyplus

We never tire of seeing incredible transformations with our spray paints. When we saw how they painted a kitchen in Decogarden we thought it was an exaggeration but it has not been so. We do not know how many kitchens we have seen already painted with Pintyplus because we do not have photographic material of all, but we want to highlight this one by Olga Nieto from the blog El Rincón de la Creacion for its professional finish. Just see the before and after:

Kitchen paint?

There is no specific paint to paint kitchen furniture. After all, these are the same surfaces that are used for other uses or rooms. What should be a paint that resists steam, humidity, heat and daily cleaning. The kitchen furniture is usually quite smooth to facilitate cleaning, which conditions us to grip the paint. One of them is formic, which was recently painted with Pintyplus Evolution and you can see on the link how to paint a formic kitchen.

How to paint a kitchen with spray?

If the furniture is made of wood and is in good condition, it is enough to sand and paint. No priming or finishing varnishes. If the furniture is made of plain formic materials, in addition to sanding we will have to put a layer of primer before painting.

Materials:

  • Pintyplus Evolution spray paint.
  • Sandpaper.
  • Burning alcohol or similar.
  • Painter’s tape
  • Screwdriver to assemble and disassemble.

The first as always is to clean the surface to be painted well. In the case of a kitchen with even more reason for the amount of fat and vapors to which it is subjected. Then we will sand with a double objective: be sure that we do not leave any dirt and open the pore of the wood to improve the adhesion of the paint. We will also take the opportunity to disassemble handles and doors to paint them with greater comfort.

We prepare the surface where we are going to paint protecting it with wrapping paper (or what you usually use). For this kitchen, the RAL 7001 silver-gray color from Pintyplus Evolution was chosen. Shake the spray well before using and start painting. Always thin and crossed layers. This is from top to bottom and from left to right. We wait for about five minutes and give the second layer the same as the first.
After 15 minutes the paint is dry and we can reassemble the kitchen.

Paint the kitchen table and chairs:

They are painted the same way we have done with furniture. In this work, Olga painted the kitchen table with the same gray color as the rest of the kitchen and the chairs in reseda green RAL 6011 in combination with the fridge.

How many sprays do I need for my kitchen?

The yield of a Pintyplus Evolution spray paint in 400ml format is about 2 m2 per layer. For light colors, we will need a couple of layers for total coverage. In the dark with one or two very soft is enough. Therefore, for 2m2 (total coverage) we will need 2 sprays paint for light colors and 1 for dark ones. Therefore, you calculate the m2 that you have to paint and the number of spray paint that you will need for light colors and if you divide it by 2, the dark ones will come directly to you.

Seen on television!

You can see the first kitchen painted with our spray paints on the link “decorate  open living room to dining kitchen” of the Decogarden TV program. It seems that it created a trend, especially in color. Let’s see who dares with a color other than gray …;)
