Paint wood with gold spray paint
Why is a gold spray used so much?
Throughout history, the color gold has been a trend whatever the time. This can be seen in literature, cinema, painting, and many other representations of collective tastes and desires.
Spray painting is an easy, fast and effective way to achieve metallic effects such as gold, silver, and bronze on different supports and surfaces. In this tutorial, the color gold has been chosen from the Pintyplus Evolution range of acrylic paints. And the object that is going to be painted is going to be a wooden bowl to deposit the house keys. And the person in charge of carrying it out will be the Pintyplus ambassador Gisela Lladò!
Materials needed to spray paint gold on wood
- Pintyplus Evolution acrylic spray paint.
- A wooden bowl to choose from.
- Masking tape.
Clean the bowl to paint gold color on the wood with a spray
The first thing is to make sure that the bowl is clean. As we always recommend, it is essential that the surface to be painted is clean and without irregularities so that the leveling of the paint is perfect.
Tape up the area you don’t want to paint
Our ambassador, Gisela, has chosen to tape an area of the bowl to achieve a “two-color” effect. It is a very elegant option because the contrast in the same object makes it look delicate and precise.
The next step is to paint in gold color. The Pintyplus Evolution range of spray paints is very easy to use. Their characteristics are:
The surface to be painted must be clean, dry, and free of any contaminants.
Shake the can vigorously for 1 minute after the mixing balls sound (except for the gloss varnish, which does not contain it). Spray from a distance of 25/30 cm, applying thin and quick layers, first horizontally and then vertically. It is advisable to spray two thin layers instead of one thick layer in order to obtain uniform coverage and avoid paint sags.
Once the operation is completed reverse the can and push the nozzle until only gas comes out in order to prevent nozzle clogging.
Remember that Pintyplus brand products have a useful life, before being started and if they are kept under normal conditions, of ten years.
It is always advisable to test the paint, the touch of the button, and the pressure of the spray on a disposable surface before starting with the piece that we do want to paint. In this way, we ensure that the paint is correctly painted and we become familiar with the technology of that specific product, which can spray differently than that of another family, have a different pressure, or a different application distance.
Let dry and shine in our hall
As simple as this. We have let it dry for 15 minutes and we have removed the bodybuilder’s tape. Now we can show off our bowl for the keys. The result is spectacular and it is very easy to carry out. Gisela has been incredible!
