Transform glass into ceramic with Pintyplus Art Gesso

Spray painting is imagination. No paint is only good for one thing, so this week we are going to use the paint from the  Pintyplus  Art range to transform glass into ceramic. We tell you all the steps to carry out this simple project at home. Any glass jar or vase is suitable for this project. You will see that once painted it does not look the same. What do we need for this project?

• A can of  Pintyplus  Art  Gesso
• Any glass pot or vase

Clean the surface

Before painting any surface it is very important that it is completely clean. For this, we can use cloth and alcohol. We will make sure that there is no residue left on the surface that could cause imperfections when we paint. If you need surface cleaning alcohol, this is your spray product.

Transforming glass into ceramic is easy

Once the surface or surfaces are clean, the next step will be to paint them with  Pintyplus  Art  Gesso. Respecting a distance of about 30 centimeters we will make long passes. In this case, since our objects were taller than they were wide and relatively small, we decided to make vertical passes. Do not neglect to paint the upper part of the object’s mouth if it has one so that the effect is even more impressive. It is preferable to let dry and repaint for optimal texture. In this case, as they are decorative objects, we have decided not to prime them, although we will varnish them with a matte varnish from any of our ranges.

How to apply the Gesso primer spray Pintyplus

The surface to be painted must be clean, dry, and free of any contaminants.

Shake the can vigorously for 1 minute after the mixing balls sound. Spray from a distance of 25/30 cm, applying thin and quick layers, first horizontally and then vertically. It is advisable to spray two thin layers instead of one thick layer in order to obtain uniform coverage and avoid paint sags.

Once the operation is completed reverse the can and push the nozzle until only gas comes out in order to prevent nozzle clogging.
